G-A's shining moments continued in the field events, where Sierra N. and Madison teamed up to take 2nd place in the high jump. Madison's new personal record of 4'11" and Sierra's jump of 4'4" actually tied the first place team from Allegan at 9'3", but they were edged out in the tiebreaker. Madison and Savanna jumped 15'3" and 14'0" respectively to earn 2nd place medals in the long jump as well.
The girls' freshman-only 4x100m relay team took home 2nd place medals as well as the girls team finished in 7th out of 12 teams. This is despite only bringing seven girls to compete and leaving several events open in the lineup. The girls' team scored points in every event in which they competed, including a 4th place finish from the 4x100m team and a pair of 5th place finishes from the freshman duo of Taylor and Alyssa. The boys finished in 9th out of 12, with the 4x100m team of Jared, Nathan, Tristan and Ryan scoring an 8th place finish. Overall, we left Bangor with one of the more successful set of performances we have had there in quite some time.
A few athletes still have not turned in green goal sheets, and as a reminder--completing the goal setting process is a requirement for a varsity letter or end-of-the-season award! Have a wonderful weekend and see you at the track on Monday!
