- The fall sports banquet is Tuesday, November 26 at 6:30 in the HS cafeteria. If you haven't attended this before, all G-AHS fall sports start out in the cafeteria for dinner and a few of the key awards. Then each team splits up to different rooms for team-specific awards and recognition. This will be a dish to pass banquet. Senior Athletes should bring a main dish. Junior Athletes should bring a main dish or side dish. Sophomore athletes should bring snacks like chips or salads. Freshmen and middle school athletes should bring deserts.
- Weekly Winter Wednesdays resume today with a run at 3:30pm for all interested parties. Meet in the hallway by the HS cafeteria and come prepared to run outside. We will be done by 4:30.
- At the banquet, I will provide each runner with a personalized plan for running in the off-season. In the meantime, running some light/easy maintenance miles is recommended. Hopefully you enjoyed your 1-2 weeks off after the season, but it's time to get moving again if you haven't already! I would recommend totaling 6-12 miles per week for the next few weeks.
- I've been told that the indoor meet schedule will be made available in early December. Typically there are 1-2 meets in December, but the majority are in January and early February. The indoor state meet is scheduled for Feb 22 at CMU.
I am in my 11th year coaching high school sports, and my second coaching cross country.
