On Saturday, May 10 we will meet at G-AMS at 9:00am. We will then break into groups and drive around Augusta, collecting food that residents have left at the end of their driveways. We will deliver the food to the food bank/church in Augusta and are expected to be done by noon (times may vary as this is the first time we've done this).
While we are doing this in Augusta, the boy scouts are doing the same in Galesburg.
We need every one of our athletes to attend this event. We also need 6-10 people willing to drive and use their vehicle for transporting the food. This can be an athlete, parent or other legal driver. Please let me know this week if you are willing to be a driver on May 10. Any parent who is uncomfortable letting his/her student ride in a car with another HS student should either volunteer to serve as an adult driver or let me know so I can make arrangements for your child with another adult driver.
Also, we are still in need of 2-3 individuals to volunteer to distribute flyers this Saturday, May 3--either in addition to attending May 10 or in lieu of attending. The time of day is flexible for the 5/3 assignment.
