In the girls' meet, Alyssa had a three-foot improvement in her shot put to take 2nd place. She paired that with a 3rd place performance in the disc and a surprised-yet-willing last-minute performance in the winning 4x100m relay team. Whitney tried the high jump for the first time and finished third, while Sierra N. and Madison both set personal records in the event as well. Madison won the 300 hurdles and the long jump, while Sierra N set another PR in the 400 en route to a 2nd place finish. Savanna won both the 100m and the 200m dashes, including a best-in-the-region performance in the 200m with a time of 27.85. Bethy had lifetime-best performances in both hurdle races on the way to a 1st and a 2nd place performance, She also joined Ana participating in the long jump for the first time ever. Taylor took part in two winning relay teams white Sierra B. scored a 2nd in disc, 3rd in shot, helped win a relay, and won the not-contested pole vault.
In the guys' meet, G-A took first place in all of the field events, led by Ryan who won the shot, disc and high jump (in an exciting jump-off for first place). Jimmy finished first in the 110 hurdles and 2nd in the 300m hurdles, both times edging out a Hackett runner at the finish line to score eight points in the meet. Logan braved the hurdles as well, finishing third in the high hurdles in his first ever attempt at the event. Cole had an impressive day, scoring in the long jump and the 400m dash. Jared's 200m time took over a second off of his previous best time as he finished in 2nd place. Bryan improved his shot put, nearly hitting 30 feet while Tristan scored points in the shot, disc and long jump (winning the long jump). Nathan C. matched his season-best time in the mile despite a windy backstretch, Nathan W. overcame a frustrating day in the ring to help the 4x100m team to win his heat in the 100m, and Danny and Robert dealt with pulled muscles on a cold afternoon. Robert was able to chip two tenths of a second off of his team-best 100m time though, as well as score a 2nd place in the long jump.
There were many accomplishments to be proud of and it was another successful day for the Running Rams. Way to go team!
