On the course, our Rams looked sharp and confident. The highlight of our night was a FIRST-PLACE finish by Lauryn in the 6th grade race. It would take the average person 28, 470 years to accomplish the trifecta of finishing first place (out of 39 runners) on your birthday (Lauryn's was on race day), at a home meet (we have one every two years). So way to go Lauryn!
Jacey also finished in the top ten, moving up two spots from the last Jamboree to #9. Michelle had no trouble with the hills, finishing ahead of 12 runners from six different schools. And Daniel actually had a faster pace on this course than he did at our previous two meets, even at Mendon!
In the high school races, Phoebe moved from 19th at the last Jamboree to 11th at this meet! At all four KVA meets we are racing the same 9 teams, so tracking places is a good indicator of your progress from meet to meet. Others who finished in a higher place were Robert (#22) and Nathan (#69). The most impressive jump, however, was Noah, who moved from 81st at Constantine to 56th at home!
Whitney, Sydney, Sierra and Bethy scored varsity points for the girls. Dharma was pleased with her time, and Grace and Kasey actually ran faster on our hilly course than they did at Constantine.
Our girls finished 9th out of 10 again, but we're hoping to surprise the KVA later in the season once we get everyone healthy and are running at full-strength.
Thursday we are at Delton, a course known for being fast and spectator-friendly. Information was handed out at practice, or it can be found here.
