On a hilly, 1.9 mile course, many G-A middle schoolers fared well. Lauryn, Hannah and Jacey finished 1st, 2nd and 6th (respectively), just as they did at last week's meet. Their paces, however, were much faster despite the challenges of the course. Daniel, Zack and Madison also ran much faster than they did at the first Jamboree.
In the high school races, Nathan finished in the top 25. To put his improvement in perspective, his "disappointing" time today on a tough course is actually faster than his best time of last year (on a flat course). For the girls, Bethy handled the course perhaps better than anyone on the team and was the 2nd G-A finisher. Gina was first, running in the top 20 yet again. Leah, Sierra and Rachel also finished in G-A's top five.
The team gets a much-needed break tomorrow for some bike riding, and looks to finish this crazy stretch of meets in the friendly confines of Gilmore Car Museum again on Thursday. Then next week's meet-free schedule is waiting with open arms for all whose legs are weak and weary.
