Nathan Wilson had one of the biggest improvements of the day, adding over six feet to his best shot put of the season with a launch of 34'7.5". Nathan Chatman captured the first varsity win of his promising track career by cruising to a 12:40 in the 3200m. Ryan also set a new personal record in the shot put and Jimmy set two new personal records in the hurdle races, earning enough points to put him into double digits for the season. Logan took 2nd place in the pole vault with a lifetime-best vault and Robert won the 800m with perhaps the most exciting finish of the meet.
In the girls' meet, every girl scored points once again, including a clean 1-2-3 sweep in the 300m hurdles thanks to Madison, Bethy and Ana. In the pole vault, Ana took home a 3rd place finish with her best-ever vault of six feet. Madison won all four of her events as did Savanna. Whitney played the ultimate role of team player, winning the 1600m and 3200m races, then chipping in points in the high jump and 400m. Alyssa set a new personal record in the discus and Sierra Nantz won the 800m despite running it for the first time ever.
As always, full results can be seen on athletic.net from this and every meet. Once on the site, it is pretty cool to check out the leaderboards for the region, KVA, or even the state. They can be filtered by grade, and expanded to more than just the top ten.
