Leading the way for the varsity girls was Phoebe with a time just 10 seconds off of her PR (set at a much-faster Gilmore course earlier this year). Rachel continued her comeback by running 90 seconds faster than Tuesday's time. Sydney had arguably the best individual race of any of our high school runners, coming two seconds away from a PR. Dharma and Grace also ran very well, finishing over two minutes faster at this meet than she did on Tuesday. Whitney, Gina and Sierra all improved their times from earlier in the week as well. Bethy ran a time consistent with her season best and Kasey fought through discomfort for gutsy finish.
In the boys' race, Noah got under 21 minutes for the third time this season. Nathan gritted his way past a side cramp and still finished faster than two of our previous meets. And Robert established his consistency in the low-mid 19:00s, showing he's ready to break through to the 18s any race now.
After the morning session had ended and most of our high school runners and families had cleared out, our middle schooler's stole the show. Catching a glimpse of the future of G-A cross country, Lauryn amazed with a top-five finish in her race (out of nearly 300 runners from all four divisions)! Jacey barely missed earning a medal with another confident and blazing performance. These two took home the best two places of anyone in our program. And Aiden made his competition debut with a successful race in an intimidating environment.
Check out results and photos from this, and previous meets. Next up is the Bloomingdale Invitational.
Don't forget team pictures are on Tuesday at 4:50 after practice.
