In a race featuring almost 700 athletes, the middle school boys were lead by Sam's time of 11:40. Daniel and Zack were the next Rams to cross the line. In the girls' 7th/8th grade race, all three G-A runners finished in the top 30% of all runners. It is worth noting that while High School races were divided by division, middle school races featured schools of all sizes from across the state. Lauryn had the highest finishing place of any G-A runner today and Hannah was not far behind her. Jacey ran 30 seconds faster than she did at the same event last year.
The last group to run for G-A had the most successful outing as the 6th grade girls all had incredible races. All four girls hit the mile mark faster than they had at any point this season. While it is difficult to compare times from this race (1.55 miles) to the other races of the season, the girls' paces today was significantly faster than at any other race of the season. Megan and Aleigha in particular had huge improvements from their previous best races of the season. Faith was the first G-A girl to finish, and she and Megan were both in the top 100 finishers. Madison ran the most consistent/steady pace throughout the race, which is usually very difficult to do at this event.
Don't forget to check the calendar (and previous messages) for next week's updated practice schedule! The MS runners are at the MS on Monday, while the HS runners are practicing at the track.
