Phoebe wasn't the only Ram to excel, as a total of five runners ended the year with season bests. Gina was the second G-A runner to finish, crossing the line in under 24:00 for the 3rd time this season and improving for the 3rd consecutive meet. Sydney was the third G-A finisher, clocking her second-straight sub-25 race and 2nd best time of the season. Bethy cut 27 seconds off of her season-best and conquered Portage's course 1:03 faster than she did just three weeks ago. Sierra enjoyed her 3rd PR of the season and cut 2:40 off of her time from the Portage Invite. Leah continued her impressive recovery with her best time of the year and ran 1:12 faster than last week. And Kasey finished her cross country career with an exclamation point, running the fastest 5k of her life in 1:40 less than her Portage Invite time.
In the boys' race, Noah matched his second best time of the season and improved 31 seconds from the first time he ran at Portage. And Nathan cut 1:55 off of his race at the Portage Invite--which again was just 21 days ago!
There was plenty to celebrate Saturday afternoon. For a majority of the team, it was an excellent finish to the season. The team collectively had its best day of the year and finished a great year with a bang. For Phoebe, it was an accomplishment many dream of but few achieve, and certainly something to be proud of. For G-A cross country, it was both the ending of a season and the beginning of a what hopefully becomes an annual tradition.
